I lived in Addis Ababa for awhile and the moment I realized I could be in the Rift Valley within a couple of hours it became a regular weekend destination. There was one particular spot that I kept returning to along the Awash River. Over the course of a year I must have visited this place half a dozen times. The families here farm tiny plots, growing what they need for food. Classic subsistence farming. Work is in the fields; Life happens along side, and in, the river.
